My name is Wes Davies and I am the Assistant Principal at Durling Middle School. It is hard to believe that I am finishing up my second year here a Clearview and my 14thyear in education! My how time flies!
I wanted to share a little about myself that you may or may not already know. My wife Laura and I are busy raising our two boys Rhys (11) and Callum (7). We live in the country near Oberlin. Laura is employed with the Cleveland Clinic as anAdvertising Manager and works in Beachwood. We have lived in Oberlin close to 12 years now and enjoy the outdoors, gardening, canning and being with our friends and family. Both of our boys swim with the Vermilion YMCA Torpedoes year round. We are looking forward to our new family member that will arrive at the end of June. We are on the list to get a Yellow Lab puppy. Of course our two cats are not excited at all with that prospect, but they will adjust after a few good interactions ending with a swat on the nose with their declawed paws.
I enjoy the outdoors and try to fish as much as the family schedule allows. I also try to stay in shape and have recently completed the properly named “Insanity” workout. My hope is to hit the road on my road bike as the warmer months approach and burn off some additional calories. When we get a chance, we like to head out of town to visit relatives who live in New York State and in the Canton, Ohio area. Our vacations usually are focused around water or camping and if we are lucky, both.
I have really enjoyed working with the Clearview Community. In the two years that I have been with Clearview, I have had the opportunity to work at Vincent and Durling. The staff, students and parents have welcomed meaboard to embark on the journey to make both buildings and the district an “Excellent” place to learn and grow. I look forward to the challenges we are going to face as a district with confidence that we will face it as a team and overcome those obstacles together.
Thank you for taking the interest in reading about me. I hope you have an “Excellent” day!
