 Clearview Local Schools Scope of Work   
Setting Sail for Excellence has become the new motto for Clearview Local Schools. This motto is being integrated into every part of the district academically, athletically, behaviorally, etc. It affects all of the Clearview Local Schools from the Superintendent, to the principals, the teaching staff, the cleaners, bus drivers, cooks, aides, the students and parents, and even the community. By adhering to this motto in all facets of the district, we will be different in 2014 by reaching the rating of excellence by the State of Ohio.  We have already made significant academic gains, rising to effective across the district this past year and achieving the highest value-added score in the state of Ohio.  Clearview Local Schools will continue to take on innovative programs, professional development for staff, collaborate with colleagues to foster open communication and academic consistency, provide intervention for all students to move them forward academically, goal–setting for all teachers and students, and creating action plans with measurable benchmarks, etc.

As a result of reaching the rating of excellence, Clearview Local Schools be different for all Race to the Top stakeholders.

Students:
  •     more engagement in their own learning
  •     utilize technology across the curriculum
  •     mastery of subject matter, versus superficial knowledge
  •     apply learning to life skills
  •     understand the formative and summative assessment process driven from data
  •     assistance for individualized instruction
Teachers:
  •     understand and utilize data to drive instruction
  •     understand and utilize new standard
  •     implement targeted instruction utilizing data processes
  •     utilize various evaluative methods to drive instruction, i.e. peer coaching, mentoring
  •     provide quality feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student achievement
  •     understand and evaluate curriculum
  •     understand and utilize technology to drive instruction
  •     collaborate with teachers, staff, administration, parents, and relevant community
Administration:
  •     provide quality feedback to stakeholders
  •     create quality, collaborative teams to support instructional goals
  •     facilitate professional development
  •     create and implement a standard method of accountability
  •     monitor and provide support for staff, students, parents
